Dearest Quantumers.  

I hope you are all doing well~ (And Happy Thanksgiving for the American’s among us)  

I thought that the biggest obstacles of making Quantum Suicide were behind us, but apparently not.  

I am just going to get straight to the point.  

Quantum Suicide and its production has been put on hold.  

This update has been written based on advice from my legal team.  

I am not able to share all the details but will tell you what I can. I am currently in the process of separation and divorce and have been since March 2017. This has been, and continues to be, an extremely mentally, physically and financially trying time, however, I have attempted to persevere through this regardless. But as luck would have it, I have hit a larger wall.  

Cotton Candy Cyanide and my game’s IP is now being entangled in a legal battle for ownership and assets. I can’t tell you much more at this point but can assure you that I am doing everything in my power to settle this quickly so that I can return to completing Quantum Suicide and fulfilling my promise to you when you all backed me back in 2015. I am really sorry that I have let you all down. Hopefully I will be able to announce sooner than later that production is back on.

Good Evening Dearest Quantumers!  

Sorry for such a slow update – unfortunately I have had glandular fever and that has slowed me down a little. For those of you who have had glandular fever – you get it, and for those of you who haven’t – 10 out of 10 DO NOT recommend~  

Now, this is quite the announcement so I will keep the first few things quick and short!  

1. Tokyo Game Show.  

We are showing this weekend at Tokyo Game Show! Soon my dearest Quantumers, we will add more to our ranks and grow in power! Fufufufufufufufufufufufu.

2. Ren’py Engine.  

In order to hit our before end of year release schedule, we have decided to finish the PC and Mac versions using the Ren’py engine, before fixing up the Unity version for the Vita release as soon as possible after. I want to get you all the game as soon as possible, so this change has had to occur~

And now for what I am so excited to announce:  

Quantum Suicide will have full ENGLISH voice acting available as well!  

I know that a lot of you have wanted English voice acting and so as a surprise and to show you how much I appreciate you all, I have saved up my own money to hire English voice actors. It is actually working out pretty well given the time it takes (and we need to wait for) the Japanese translations and then Japanese voice actors – so adding this feature will not add any time at all to our development schedule!

Now, to showcase this new feature, I have re-made the original demo with full voice acting. You can download it from here: OMG CLICK ME YAY!

The English has English VA and the Japanese has full Japanese VA – now in the demo you can’t pick your game language different to your VA language, but this will be available in the final game – please don’t worry! This is only to show case the feature~ I hope this makes you all as happy as it makes me!  

I am sorry again about the late update because I have been sick, but I will do my best to make the next one sooner to make up for this - and with it - an updated progress sheet and fan-fic thanks to AngelRose ^_^

Good Evening Quantumers!  

I hope everyone is enjoying their July so far! It is quite cold here in Australia (It’s winter) so if you are in the northern hemisphere please send me your warm vibes!  

Here is our current update on progress:

It’s a little slower than I would like...but we are getting there.  

I have identified two of the slowest choke points that are occurring – writing and coding (both of which I was doing all of and am struggling alone) and so to remedy the problem, I am getting some help in both these areas. I am getting a second writer to help me who is compatible with me and my writing style as well as a programmer to give me a hand with that side. 

The game itself and its mechanics are pretty simple, but as you can imagine, there is A LOT of dialogue data that needs to be entered. So please be rest assured that I am doing everything in my power to keep us pushing along and will get QS out as soon as we can! :D  

Now it’s time to meet your parents…

 That’s right – we will be at Tokyo Game Show from September 21st-24th. 

I squealed pretty hard when I was emailed that we had been accepted. We will be featured in the ‘romance games’ section. I hope we don’t scare the other…less murder involved games :P

The Production Information you’ve all been waiting for~  

Hello Quantumers!  

I hope you are all doing well, and I can’t thank you all enough for how much support I have received from you all after the last update. Thank you so much, I will never be able to repay your kindness~  

This update is going to be very…dry. I am working hard on the games development and so this update isn’t fancy, or fantastic really, but does include more production information than ever! *yay I guess if stats are your thing*  

I have completed a much bigger break down of the project and its current standing (ensuring to answer all questions raised by CJ in the previous update!). If any of you have questions or want more information regarding a particular aspect, please ask in the comments below and I will answer you asap!

Now, for the long winded written section:  

As you can see, we are a little bit behind schedule and not where we would ideally like to be now, however, circumstances have resulted in us being here and there is no point in me getting upset, just means I need to lift my game and work harder and faster! And I WILL AND WILL CONTINUE TOO!

Like in the last update, I take full responsibility in the games current state and its release being delayed. Thank you all again for your support and I know that I am able to get through this all because I have your support <3 

To say that Game Development is an easy process would be a straight out lie, and to say that this project hasn’t had its hurdles would be laughable, however - I have chosen to not mention issues previously and will continue to only ever lightly touch on them if they include other contributors to the project. 

I should take full responsibility of any project issues and never want blame to fall to contractors. At the end of the day, I hired them and whether they work out or not should solely rest on my shoulders. if their actions impact the project, it is my fault. I hope you can all respect this stance. I want to be as open as possible with all of you about the game development process – I just never want to say anything negative, nor have anyone think negatively about any one of the games contributors.

I am doing my best to ensure that any issues and set backs have as little impact on all Quantumers as possible. I have even taken time off my full time studies and am focusing solely on this~ So please know I am working as hard as I can!

 Now, other questions asked: 

With Nyx gone are you receiving any type of help?

As you know, when Nyx left, I took on the work load of two people. When we first started this project, we went into it knowing that we would not be paid for our work and that all money raised would go to other areas of development. Since she left I have had offers of help however, but because the role would be unpaid, it hasn’t been possible to find someone to fill the Nyx void and so I have been attempting to manage the project solely. 

I of course have the emotional support from both this community and my local game development community, which I am incredibly grateful for, but as for working on the project it is still just me. It sucks… a lot, but it is what it is. No time for moping, I just need to get it all done myself!

 Physical rewards and running smoothly – who is helping with fulfillment? 

So, we are using BackerKit to help manage the paperwork side of the fulfillment. As for the Physical rewards, I have all physical good manufacturers sourced (happened before ever offering anything physical) and so should have orders in for all goods to be made a few months before the games official launch. 

 From here… My apartment will become a shipment factory. 

I have a roommate, who is a natural products chemist by day, and a postal master by night. I also have a few close friends who are all lawyers but who will work hard for Nandos. When it is time to ship the physical rewards, I will have the tightest shipping manufacturing production line this world has ever seen. We are all university teachers as well, as so paper work comes naturally to all of us. Regardless of having over 1k Quantumers, we only have 182 Quantumers requiring postage of physical items – so, I honestly believe given a few days, four women and a s**t tonne of Nandos, we should be able to handle the shipping of physical items in house OK :) Please don’t worry, we have this under control!

Happy Easter holidays! I hope you’re all getting the chance to relax and catch up on some games. :)

Quantum Suicide's Release is Delayed.

It saddens me that I must start this update with such depressing news.  

Unfortunately, I must announce that Quantum Suicide will be delayed. The new expected release is later this year.  

Quantumers, I am so sorry. I can’t explain in words how sorry I am for this.  

I feel like I have failed you, and that is because I have. T.T  

As many of you know, shortly after the Kickstarter was successful, Nyx left the project. I didn’t want her leaving to affect our production schedule, and I thought that I would be able to pick up the work load and get it all done in time, but I was wrong. I am so sorry. I take full responsibility. This is my fault and I am sorry.  

I don’t know how I can make this up to you…  

I am lucky enough to have one of the greatest communities in the world and I am sorry that I have failed you. It hurts me so much to have to announce this, but I hope that one day I can earn your trust back, and I will work my hardest every day to do that!  

I am so sorry Quantumers T.T

Characters from both games will be making special cameo appearances in each other’s titles… What could be more fun right? It’s like Where’s Waldo but with Ai…Why Ai?
