April's Update!!
about 6 years ago – Mon, Apr 16, 2018 at 02:17:35 AM

Happy April Quantumers!

Your monthly update is here :D  *Dances*

Happy Easter!

I know it’s late, but Happy Easter Quantumers!

For those of you who do not enjoy the religion aspect: Happy Chocolate Egg Day Quantumers!

For those who don’t enjoy the Capitalist aspect of selling chocolate eggs: Happy Day Comrade!

For a Quantumer that doesn’t agree/like any of the above. Wooo, Sunday! am I right? :D

Game Progress.

I wish I had better news here, but I still don’t. Negotiations were underway last month and were looking promising, however the other party stopped communicating almost a month ago and I am now unsure where we stand. I have taken action in order to hopefully re-open channels of communication but am still awaiting any response. I am hopeful to have better news for you next month. 😊

This being said, this hurdle is not stopping me or us! I am pushing ahead and am coming up with new solutions to push forward faster even if this continues to be a problem. One of the issues going forward (and the major one) is of course funds. I am planning to start streaming once I have a new home and a better internet connection. I will be streaming DOTA (As I play it anyway in my down time – so this is my leisure/try to make QS money time) at least four mornings a week. All money I raise during the streaming will go directly to QS and getting its production completed and its associated costs! I know it’s not much, but it’s what I can do to try and help move this along (Aside from the work I am doing on the game).

I hope you will all support me in this decision! I will keep you all updated for when I will start streaming.

Moving A lot – NEW postal Address!

In the last two months, I have moved three times and am expecting a forth move within the next month. (Thanks to all the friends I have lived with and to the couches I have slept on during this difficult time).

This however has a silver lining. Cotton Candy Cyanide now has an official posting address!

If you want to send me a present, a picture of your cat or even just a random post card, you now can! I do ask though that hate mail be reserved for emails - I prefer my hate mail like my coffee; instant, cold and eventually discarded.

Meet at Brisbane.

Last month I had the fun opportunity of taking the QS demo up to a games meet in Brisbane in attempts to indoctrinate some new Quantumers. Mission was a success :P It was a great evening and I loved meeting everyone there (as well as catching up with some old friends).

Making friends... pity they don't live long.

Game development may officially be put on hold… but, but, that doesn’t mean I can’t work on bits and pieces! Here is a sketch of the new and upcoming Promotional Art for QS from our talented artist Dan~

I can’t wait to see it in colour. Hope you like it too!

Well, until next month Quantumers (and hopefully with better news)

March Update :D
about 6 years ago – Wed, Mar 07, 2018 at 01:22:58 AM

Good Evening Quantumers~

I would first like to thank everyone who has stood by Quantum Suicide and myself during the delays in production. I know that it must be difficult and incredibly frustrating for you all and I am truly sorry to every single one of you.

Thank you Quantumers~ For your patience and your ongoing support T.T

Now as far as progress goes, I still have nothing solid, but can tell you that negotiations are in place! I have fingers crossed and hope for a positive outcome in the coming months :D I will be updating once a month - even if there is no news - so that you all know that regardless of no progress, my finger is constantly on the pulse!

Now for something more positive!

ONE LAST CRANE - Visual Novel on Kickstarter.

Do you like Visual Novels? Original Soundtracks? And Brain Tumors? ...Then boy do I have the game for you!

The creators of One Last Crane reached out to me when they launched their kickstarter and so I checked it out.

"One Last Crane" is a visual novel centered on Yuuki Murakami, a boy who has a brain tumor. After a long year of treatment without any positive results, Yuuki asks for his final wish: to return to his hometown and fulfill his promise to meet again with his childhood friend, Saki Nishimura. However, as always, things are hard for him. “

Now, I’m personally much more about killing people in cold blood, rather than unfortunate medical conditions...but when I checked out the comments section, I noticed something familiar…

Quantumer Wackles has backed this project, and so now must I.

A Quantumer hasn’t steered me wrong yet~ So if you haven’t already, please check out One Last Crane!

Fanfic - Falcarius.

During Quantum Suicide’s campaign, a fanfic competition was run, with the winner having their fanfic put inside the game. The winner of that competition was Falcarius with his piece Quantum Suicide Battle Royale. I have here now the sketch of the CG for this ‘dream sequence’ within the game to share with you!

Melody looks... fine.

And for those who want to re-read the fanfic that will be in Quantum Suicide, it is just below!

Until next month Quantumers!

QUANTUM SUICIDE BATTLE ROYALE By Quantumer Falcarius.

I woke up early, my stomach heavy with a mixture of lingering horror from yesterday's execution and growing dread of today's new Deletion Game. No matter how many rounds I went through, the waiting never got any easier. Knowing I wouldn't be getting back to sleep, I turned the lights on and checked the time readout on the wall. Perhaps it wasn't as early as I thought. Any minute now, DAI would be-

DAI: Already up? You're no fun.

 PROTAGONIST: Gah!

DAI: Awwww, you don't look happy to see me.

PROTAGONIST: Can we just get this over with?

DAI: Okay, grumpy-pants. I've got a very special surprise for you today...

PROTAGONIST: Oh boy. I can't wait.

DAI: Come along now, there's no time to waste!

PROTAGONIST: DAI, why are we in the Engineering Bay? Where's everyone else?

DAI: Surprise! You get a free pass this round!

 PROTAGONIST: Wait, seriously?

DAI: That's right! You get to watch the other players compete from the safety of this room!

DAI swept her arm around, indicating the collection of holographic screens all over the room. Each screen showed a different room or hallway of the ship. I spotted one displaying the Dining Hall, where the other crew members had already gathered. My feelings of apprehension growing, I stepped back to the door of the Engineering Bay, but sure enough, it was locked.

 PROTAGONIST: DAI, what are you...

DAI: Well, time to go reveal today's game to the lucky participants! Toodle-oo!

PROTAGONIST: DAI, get back here and tell me what's going on!

It was no use. DAI had already vanished. I walked over to the screen showing the Dining Hall, which now contained DAI and several crew members... too many crew members, in fact. Could this be true? It didn't make sense. What was going on?

DAI: I'm sure everyone's noticed by now, but I thought I'd make this round a little more interesting by restoring the players eliminated in earlier rounds.

Everyone was there. Even the victims of the previous Deletion Games. The ones whose executions I had been forced to watch. How could they be alive again?

NIKOLAS: What do you mean, "restore"? How is this possible?

DAI: You can't expect me to reveal all my secrets, can you? Now stop interrupting.

DAI: Anyway, after your rather disappointing performances in the last few rounds, I've decided to step things up a bit.

DAI: I've noticed a certain... fondness... towards a certain member of our happy little family recently.

DAI: So for today's very special round of the Deletion Game, I'm giving you a chance to show how much you care.

DAI: The rules are very simple: Last one breathing gets to have their way with [Protagonist]!

 PROTAGONIST: WHAT!? ALL: WHAT!?

PROTAGONIST: This is crazy! I didn't agree to this! Nobody else is going to agree to this! ...Right?

KIMIKO: This time you've gone too far, DAI! Executing single crew members was horrible enough, but now you're trying to kill us all at once!?

DAI: Well, technically, two of you would survive.

KIMIKO: That doesn't matter! Nobody's going to play this round. Nobody's getting killed!

DAI: Oh, silly me! I forgot to mention - if more than one of you is still alive in eight hours' time, [Protagonist] gets executed.

KIMIKO: Th-that doesn't change anything! No matter who it is, a single crew member's life is not worth the-

The Captain suddenly stopped talking. Even through the holographic screen, I could see a line of blood trickle from her mouth.

YOSHIKI: I'm sorry, Captain. Yoshiki stepped back, tugging a screwdriver out of the Captain's neck.

YOSHIKI: I can't let [Protagonist] die, not when I haven't even confessed my feelings yet!

Captain Kimiko Yukimori's lifeless body crumpled slowly to the floor. There was a moment of stunned silence, and then the Dining Hall erupted into chaos, everyone scrambling for the door. Katashi ran straight for the kitchen, rummaging quickly through the utensils and selecting the most dangerous-looking ones. But his choice of destination was too predictable. On another screen, I noticed a diminutive figure edging towards the kitchen door. I shouted warnings at the screen, but I knew nobody would hear me. There was nothing I could do but watch. As soon as Katashi opened the door, a unicorn-shaped backpack slammed into his face, knocking him to the floor.

SHIZUKA: [Protagonist] is mine! You hear me? ALL MINE!

Shizuka stabbed the horn of her unicorn backpack into Katashi's chest over and over. I turned away and covered my ears, but I could still hear the screams. The next couple of hours were a nightmarish blur. Vladimir drowning Shizuka... [Corrupt] strangling Yoshiki... Dr. Andreas pushing Vladimir into the matter recycler... Before long, the only ones left were the Vogel twins.

NIKOLAS: I'm sorry, Beatrix. You know how much I love you... But I love [Protagonist] more.

BEATRIX: I understand, Nikolas. Believe me, I understand.

Before I could tell what had happened, Nikolas had plunged a syringe into Beatrix's neck. He embraced her, crying, as the strength slowly drained from her body.

BEATRIX: But if I can't have [Protagonist], neither can you.

 NIKOLAS: Wh...!?

Nikolas staggered backwards, his eyes widening in disbelief, and a scalpel protruding from his throat. He bumped into a trolley and fell with a crash, medical instruments scattering around him. It looked as though he was trying to speak, but no words came. As I sank to my knees in disbelief, DAI flickered into existence behind me.

DAI: Well, would you look at that? I guess I'm the winner!

I didn't hear her. I couldn't move, couldn't think. I couldn't save them. They were all gone. Everyone I had ever known was gone. ...No. Not quite everyone.

DAI: Oh, I just can't wait to-

Without any warning, all the lights in the room went out. The video screens vanished, and DAI's sudden silence informed me that she too had disappeared. In the dying glow of the power cells, I could just make out a tiny figure crawling out of a maintenance hatch, gripping a bundle of severed wires.

MELODY: I did it! I won the game!

With the ship's power gone, the oxygen was starting to drain from the room, but I didn't care. I just wanted it all to be over.

MELODY: Now we can be together forever!

 MELODY: Ahaha... AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I snapped awake, sitting bolt upright. What a dreadful nightmare... As if I didn't have enough to worry about today...

Dearest my Quantumers.

I didn’t honestly think I would ever have to make this kind of announcement. It saddens me, but Quantumers mean more to me than anything and I understand the need for it. Like with everything up to this point, I want to be open and transparent with you all about everything.

Today, it was brought to my attention that a Quantumer was so displeased with the current state of my communication and clarity that they have reported me and the QS kickstarter for violations of Kickstarter terms of use section 4 (How Projects Work).

If you want to know more about this you can find that HERE.

I understand the frustration this Quantumer feels, but am incredibly saddened and disheartened by their response and complaint.

I honestly believe that I have been communicating frequently and with clarity. I have, to the best of my ability, explained the situation and attempted to resolve any concerns of *IF* to *WHEN*. I hate that I cannot give any concrete timelines etc, and I can assure you that I am attempting to resolve this issue everyday and am even putting what is best for the project over what is best for me personally.

I love Quantum Suicide and Quantumers. This game and community is one of the greatest things to ever happen to me. It hurts every passing day that the game is further delayed. Each day I am working towards a solution. The waiting part of this legal process is killing me, but how long it will take is out of my hands and I am doing my best to remain positive and ready to act as soon as I can.

I have not been completing updates every week or every other week as there is simply no change. Since the game was put on hold in late November I have put out 2 updates - one on Christmas Eve that was accompanied by the playable Xmas special “Christmas Everett” and one again on Valentines Day. I will continue to update as I always have as we proceed and I receive more information.

I have refunded this Quantumer’s money, and I hope them all the best in future. I am really sorry that it had to come to this, but I respect their position and don’t ever want anyone to feel that I have taken advantage of them. If you feel the same way, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

I have been absolutely taken aback by the sheer amount of support I have received from you the amazing community in this trying time - and I will not allow this incident to shake my faith and belief in this community and its people. I am so grateful with all my heart to all of you who have continued to support me through this hardship…

Ad Astra Per Aspera “Through Hardship to the Stars”

Together, we will reach the stars my dearest Quantumers.

I look forward to the day that we look down from the stars together and smile.

Happy Valentine's Day Quantumers!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day and eats plenty of chocolate!

If no one has given you any, no problems or worries! Please buy yourself as much as you want and gorge yourself knowing that the Quantumer community loves you! <3

I unfortunately have nothing to give you all this year - not even any news at this point, but I am working hard every day to solve this and get the game back on track asap.

I know I don't have any cool presents like last year (damn you past MoltenCherry ...setting the bar so damn high) but I do have this:

I love you all <3

Merry Christmas Quantumers!
over 6 years ago – Sun, Dec 24, 2017 at 01:07:11 AM

Merry Christmas my dearest Quantumers~

I hope you are all having a great Christmas Eve and are all getting pumped for the big day tomorrow!

I know that this year has had its disappointments, and I have sadly been a contributor to that-HOWEVER- the year is not over yet and we still have time to end this year with a smile!

May I present my gift to you:
Please download the Christmas Everett file :D
Please download the Christmas Everett file :D

It may not be much, and it’s far from perfect, but I just want you all to know that regardless of my current challenges, I still appreciate you all and am so grateful to have every single one of you on this journey with me. This year has been quite challenging and normally I would state it has been the worst year of my life - but you have all managed to still somehow make it one of the best.
I want to show all Quantumers how grateful I am in the best way that I can – by making you a game.

Merry Christmas Quantumers,

I love you all.
